On August 30, 2019, Tamara L Hunter became the "First Global Next Impactor." A nine month global competition, "The Next Impactor" was designed to bring focus to those throughout the world that have dedicated themselves to making a difference. Over 200 entered from every continent. The competition was ran in a "Reality TV" style through Social Media. There were many twists and turns and in the end, there was one winner crowned at the Stan Mansion in Chicago, Illinois, Tamara L. Hunter.Running with her platform of Chemo Buddies for Life, Tamara has committed to ease the suffering of isolation experienced by too many facing cancer. WIth her "Buddies Network" she is building a worldwide movement to change the face of cancer, "One buddy at a time." A survivor of cancer, Tamara has a passion that has now translated into a cause dedicated to seeing that no one faces cancer alone. She has become the President and Co-founder of a nonprofit dedicated to supporting this mission. Chemo Buddies for Life DBA Chemo Buddies 4life (CB4L) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation out of California. Founded towards the end of 2017 with the mission that no one should face cancer alone, Chemo Buddies for Life is working to end isolation during treatment, recovery and the "new normal" life.Using social media including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and more, CB4L is reaching a community that has felt isolated. Through the newly built website at www.chemobuddies4life.org, those who are in need of a "chemo" or "support buddy" can join the membership area for free. The site provides the ability to search for a peer support buddy online. The uniqueness of this program is that CB4L is bringing the basic need of having someone with similar medical challenges and experiences to a population that is underserved. Additionally, a community of peer support buddies is building throughout the United States, soon to expand worldwide. Stories of inspiration, interviews of interest, recent findings and much more are also available throughout the Chemo Buddies' social media outlets.Recent findings within the medical community have found that those who are isolated and not socialized while in treatment have the worst outcome than their counterparts.
