As a DSP, I provide care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I help with performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.

Working in a doctor’s o ce, I worked in administration. I contacted patients to schedule and discuss appointments. I kept contact information for the patients and their other facilities. I attended events and meetings that took place within the company. I spoke with other o ces in regards to patient referrals. I kept and uploaded medical records. As well as, keeping up with patient’s medical history overall.

With less than six months of experience, I’ve assisted the elderly in their everyday lives. I’ve helped them with things as far as dressing and things of that nature. I’ve assisted them with things like eating, and dressing; as well as participating in activities like games, sports, and social events. I’ve done numerous amounts of activities with numerous of people.

As a PCNA, I did things I would have done as an STNA. I assisted with daily tasks, as far as patient activities and patient care. I was able to do more than a normal STNA. I also conducted vitals, changed foley bags, and discharged foleys.

As this being my rst receptionist job, I was challenged to step out of my comfort zone. During my time at this job, I kept contact information, as well as important information. I attended meetings and took notes for administrators. I made sure everyone in the facility stayed up to date with events and gave client’s families details on their stay in the facility.
