• Member of a team of scientists that develops and automates assays for the blood transfusion industry, but more specifically, a project leader and manager for assay development projects.• Liaise with departments within the company on projects to implement new strategies to meet customer demands while at the same time maintaining patient safety.• Involved in all phases of bringing new products to market from conception to clinical trial submission. These tasks include the evaluation of potential methodologies and equipment, design control, cost and risk assessment, development of the assay, testing against predicate devices, writing and implementation of study protocols and standard operating procedures and the generation of verification and test plan data required for FDA approval. • Extensively trained in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the phase gate approach of product development. • Responsible for and manage multiple employees including workload, evaluation, as well as, technical and career development.• Report weekly to management staff on project deliverables and assignments to ensure that all parties are informed and projects remain on target.• Train new hires and interns on GMP, SOPs, instrumentation and laboratory techniques. • Write documents for presentation, including abstracts for conferences, clinical trials and submissions to the FDA.

• Investigation of surface localization of proteins anchored by sortases in Group A Streptococcus through manipulation of genes encoding for these proteins.• Studied the Coo proteins of human enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli responsible for pili formation. Accomplished analysis through western blotting, affinity purification, immunoprecipitation, and hemagluttination assays.• Worked directly with post-doctoral student and senior research associates formulating hypotheses, designing research methodology, accurately recording lab procedures, collected data and analysis of implications of that data.• Assisted in training first year medical students and other laboratory personnel on standard protocols and methodologies.
