I find great joy in working as Associate General Counsel for a mission-driven company. First Command Financial Service's mission is to serve the financial needs of those who serve our country. Every day, I offer counsel and support to our Advisor force, as they stay focused on financial planning for our country's military. I also advise our executive leadership in complex strategic decisions. Having previously served as in-house counsel and compliance officer at the largest privately held bank in the US, I have extensive experience with matters pertaining to banking regulatory compliance, especially with respect to fair lending and UDAPP compliance, as well as laws and regulations pertaining to deposits, lending and loss mitigation. I am able to leverage this past experience to assist First Command Bank in its legal and regulatory needs. Prior law firm experience in commercial litigation and employment matters also allows me to support the corporate side of First Command as well.In Spring 2021, I had the rewarding opportunity to co-teach Business Law within the Neeley School of Business. I loved that this put me in direct contact with the youthful energy of today's college students and allowed me to pass along how to think like a lawyer and pose challenging legal questions they are likely to confront in their business careers, as well as to share war stories.In 2017, I paused my career so that I could parent with a purpose, to ensure I was raising my two boys to become men who contribute meaningfully in this world.
