I provide specialist legal advice to the retirement village, aged-care and health sectors on all aspects of their businesses, including day-to-day operational advice, policy development, and responding to complaints and disputes. I am fully immersed in the retirement village and aged-care sectors, acting for operators from large NZX listed entities to small charities and everything in-between, including five of the "Big 6". Clients appreciate my in-depth knowledge and pragmatic and commercially astute advice. Working closely with clients on an ongoing basis gives me unique insight into their businesses so that I can offer tailored advice to suit each client's needs.Issues relating to a person's home or health are two of the areas that cause the greatest stress, often leading to emotions running high. Having worked in hospitals, and with a family of health practitioners, I understand the urgency and sensitivity required when dealing with these sensitive matters. My clients appreciate my ability to remain calm in these situations and my focus on obtaining the best possible outcome. My compassionate and considered approach often enables early resolution, avoiding the costs of lengthy complaint and dispute processes. My experience has been gained over more than ten years spent in the private sector in NZ and in-house in public health sector in NZ and the UK. I hold a Bachelor of Laws (with honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland. I have presented on topics including the End of Life Choice Act 2019, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Capacity, the Code of Health and Disability Consumers' Rights and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Retirement Village sector and legal profession.
