Worked for attorneys practicing civil defense. My responsibilities included proofing pleadings and other documents; filing pleadings in local, state, federal and appellate courts; being competent in e-filing procedures for various state and federal courts; knowing court rules and/or having the ability to look up rules and court/judge procedures; calendaring court deadlines and managing appropriate reminders; scheduling of multi-party conference calls, depositions and other appointments; maintaining both paper and on-line files; issuing subpoenas for records; interacting with courts, clients, experts and claims representatives.

Worked for attorneys practicing insurance defense, which involved a variety of case types, including but not limited to construction defect; personal injury; wrongful death; and asbestos. My responsibilities included proofing pleadings and other documents; filing pleadings in local, state, federal and appellate courts including e-filing; knowing court rules and/or having the ability to look up rules and court/judge procedures; calendaring court deadlines; scheduling of multi-party conference calls, depositions and other appointments; maintaining both paper and on-line files; working with and assisting paralegals on various tasks including issuing subpoenas for records; interacted with courts, clients, experts and claims representatives.
