I graduated from The George Washington Milken School of Public Health, with a Master's of Public Health, in May 2018. I want to work in public health policy and research. I am open to relocating for the right opportunity. I have completed two internships, participated in community service, and volunteered for healthcare base organizations. I enjoy dealing with people and communities on health issues. I graduated from Fisk University in 2008, and my intention was to begin graduate school but collapsing economic conditions caused a delay in getting started. I have had the opportunity to experience what things are like in the mortgage industry by taking positions that helped struggling Americans find ways to avoid losing their homes. Now that the economy has improved, I am able to pursue my primary career goals. My sixteen year work experience has allowed me to acquire a variety of skills that include teaching high school science, administrative duties with nonprofit organizations, customer service working in the mortgage industry, and a host of other office and clerical skills. This eclectic background insures I am prepared, efficient, and knowledgeable in these areas. I welcome new challenges and have a strong goal oriented attitude toward employment and public health challenges. I also have excellent communication skills, understanding how important listening and engagement are when interacting with others. I know I am best suited to program management because it will allow me to interact with non-profit leaders, community stakeholders, community leaders, and individuals about problems and issues that greatly affect and impact their lives; particularly when it comes to public health. My motto and work ethic is best described as: Teamwork, integrity, and personal accountability are essential to my personal growth while I engaged in work and community service. My ideal job would allow me to take on a leadership role.
