About Tamara Amalia
Born in Indonesia, raised in small town U.S.A., and currently based in Germany, I consider myself a constant visitor with no hometown. Where ever I am, that is where I build my home. My culture mashed background has influenced who I am as a designer. By approaching each challenge with different set of eyes, I value in first observing and understanding how different people experience a problem. Seeing the extraordinary, even in the most mundane situations, is fundamental in uncovering design opportunities.Design alone does not solve problems. Single solutions are not sufficient in tackling the complex challenges we are faced with today. Each challenge is unique and so must each design response. I see design as an approach in getting the right people involved and executing ideas to make a change. I aim to create design responses that are meaningful, sustainable, and elegant.Profile picture photographed by Katja Velmans for NATURSTROM AG

Co-Founder
The landscape of today's food purchase and consumption is changing. Brick and mortar supermarkets are embracing the online world and online shops are investing in physical spaces. Consumers are demanding to know where their food come from. As a result, the demand for organic, regional and handcrafted food product are increasing. Bringsl is my life project. I aim to bring people together who are passionate about creating good food, build a community of conscious consumers and create a platform for inspirational shopping experiences.I am looking for cooperation partners and investors. Please contact me if you are interested in knowing more about the project.www.bringsl.com
Freelance Ux/Ui Designer And Researcher
Parallel to founding my company, I also freelance as a UX/UI Designer and Researcher. Over the past 7+ years I have worked with large corporations in the energy and agriculture sector. The projects I have completed range from website relaunches, marketplace apps and online tools. My roles in these projects have been to create design systems, conduct workshops and testing.
Product Storyteller And Co-Founder
Maha Delish offers handcrafted dips with exciting flavors such as Matcha Vanilla Chocolate, Salted Choconut and Peanut Chai Butter. Founded by Gita Maharani and myself and born from Gita's ability to magically mix ingredients and my visionary tastebuds. My responsibilities include marketing and building the brand image through all platforms, business acquisitions and overseeing the operation.
Senior Information Architect
In my postion as Senior Information Architect, I held the lead concept roles in the projects. My job was to advise clients on UX related topics as well as supervise the development and implementation of the concept. I had the opportunity to work with clients from so many different sectors such as Axpo, GEDORE, Mäurer & Wirtz and OBI.
Specialist Information Architect
After receiving my Master's Degree, I continued working full-time at denkwerk. My knowledge in the field continued to grow alongside my responsibilites in the project. During these 2 years, I had the privilege of working with large corporations such as Telekom and RWE. In these projects, I planned and conducted various workshops ranging from card sorting, stakeholder interviews and user acceptance testings.
Student Assistant Information Architecture
The digital world was still a new territory for me when I first started at denkwerk. The term "information architecture" was foreign, yet the methods used in practice were very similar to the design methods I learned in the fields of service design and design research. During this time I helped the team conduct user research and benchmarking for clients such as Germanwings (now Eurowings) and UNICEF. The findings were used to determine certain functionalities or direction of the website.During this time, I and a colleague participated in the BVDW Junior Challenge Award that encourages young professionals to create creative concepts and future scenarios of advertising and digital marketing. The theme that year was "Shopping Experience 2020". We took home the first prize. Click the link below to see our presentation.
Intern For Corporate Communication
When I first applied for an internship at Weber Shandwick Cologne, my team manager wasn't sure how a designer would fit into the traditional world of public relations. With my design skills I was able to help the team visually communicate ideas to the client and bring a user's perspective to corporate communications.
Visual Design Intern
At Brand New Media I was responsible for creating the visual design of a networking platform targeted for professionals. This included creating the overall look and feel, defining a pattern library of the UI elements and designing the pages of the platform. During the design iterations, I worked closely with the concepter to ensure that the aesthetics aligned with the desired user experience.
