Legal Advisor
Ministry Of Economy And Regional Development Of The Republic Of Serbia
Belgrade, Serbia
- Preparing all relevant documents within Serbia's WTO accession process, such as Legislative Action Plan, Initial/Revised Offers on Services, and Draft Working Party Report. - Participating in multilateral/bilateral negotiations with WTO Members. Prior to moving to the UAE and starting my career in journalism in 2012, I worked in the international trade policy development field, specifically focusing on the World Trade Organization law. My career began with the Ministry of International Economic Relations of the Republic of Serbia as a junior legal advisor. From the very beginning, I was actively participating in multilateral and bilateral negotiations within the WTO and EU accession processes of the Republic of Serbia, advising on associated legal implications. In addition to being trained in diplomacy and working cooperatively and effectively with both senior and junior colleagues at all governmental levels, this experience has provided me with vast insight and expertise in the build, management, and sustainability of the business ecosystem and its wide-reaching impact to both business leaders and society as a whole. Later on, I decided to further develop her international trade and business law analysis skills and enrolled in a Master’s in International Law and Economics (M.I.L.E.) program in the World Trade Institute in Bern (Switzerland), which was supported by the Government of Switzerland ESKAS Federal Scholarship Program 2007/2008. Upon my return to the ministry in 2008, I was promoted to the position of advisor and undertook a higher degree of responsibility for the outcome of certain parts of the WTO accession negotiations of the Republic of Serbia, with my work being evaluated by both national and international organizations. Through all these engagements I honed the skills for external outreach and relationship development as well as the ability to strongly collaborate within a team.
