    I started working at Maryville as an intern from June 2013 to October 2013. My main function was full cycle recruiting.     I worked at Verizon Wireless for a four and a half years, where the motto "The only thing that is constant is change." With that being said, no two days were ever the same. I quickly excelled there, transitioning from Customer Service to Technical Support and lastly, the Chat department. I helped assist a customer base of 122 million customers that would contact us with any questions, concerns or feedback they may have (billing, technical, or general support) via chat. Working in a fast paced environment chatting with two customers (concurrently) taught me to focus and pay very close attention to detail. It was great to build rapport and connections with every customer I interacted with. I took ownership and resolved all of their concerns during their first contact with the company. Mastering those skills helped me earn the a performance ranking of a leading representative, which opened the door of opportunity to my career development and several leadership opportunities to be floor support or to be a point of contact when supervisors were out of the office or in meetings. These opportunities enhanced my skills in motivating team members, making business decisions, handling negotiations, and providing constructive feedback. I also was an on-call Human Resources volunteer for career fairs and interview days, helping to recruit and attain the most qualified candidates for the call center. I also assisted the IT department in installing new Thin Clients for the center and setting up second monitors for 143 computers in the chat department. When not working with the customers or volunteering in other departments, I spent my time as a mentor with Corliss High School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students. Supporting them at the 2014 TechFest was remarkable. Having an impact in their lives by encouraging them to reach their full potential and strive beyond their wildest dreams was gratifying beyond belief.

    I started at CVS/Pharmacy through joined effort of the City of Chicago and UIC program to introduce high school minorities to pharmaceutical industry. We took pharmacy course and shadowed pharmacists in various locations (retail, hospital, and research). At the end of the program, I was offered a full time position by CVS, which launched my career into customer service. I was able to quickly excel and become team lead for the pharmacy technicians at my home store before leaving for college and transferring store. There I knew I wanted to take my career to the next level, so I studied and pass the certification test to become a National Certified Pharmacy Technician. I was then able to take on more responsibilities including managing store inventory and staff scheduling. Throughout my college years, I contributed as a leader in helping our store excel to become #1 in the mid-west region. This opened up the opportunity for our store to become the first on-the-job training stores. We became responsible for training all the new hires in our region. I personally trained over 100 new employees through a 9 week course consisting of classroom and on-the-job training. I evaluated their performance along the way and made any necessary adjustments to ensure full skills and knowledge needed for the completion of the course and release to their dedicated job-sites.
