Tamar Datan has devoted her career to advancing education, philanthropy, sustainable economic development, and conservation. She also volunteers in her Loudoun County, Virginia community and with other charitable endeavors nationwide. Tamar is Senior Advisor at the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group. Her executive recruitment and talent management practice focuses on disability justice, youth development, philanthropy, education, conservation, and related areas. While the majority of her searches are for chief executives, she is also open to filling other leadership roles, including Board of Director recruiting. She is particularly practiced in managing founder transitions. From July 2012 to July 2015, Tamar served as Executive Director of TrueSpark, a national nonprofit whose mission is to expose, immerse and engage America's youth on issues of character by watching inspiring movies. In addition to serving as a consultant for national and international nonprofits, Tamar's previous positions include Executive Vice President at the Amazon Conservation Team and Vice President & Director of The Nature Conservancy's Compatible Ventures Group. In these capacities, she promoted economic development compatible with conservation in distressed rural communities. Previously, she was Venture Fund Officer with The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she managed a portfolio of over $100 million in grants over seven years, supporting education, conservation, civic action and social justice.
