Profile bio

About Tamar F.

I love problem solving. I enjoy getting to know the needs of my client – be it a business unit, a city, or fellow peers – and developing context sensitive solutions that improve their issue at hand. I find my work to be part science, part art – I’m not afraid to dig into complex quantitative data to gain insights, and also have a deep understanding of the importance of effective stakeholder engagement to drive successful outcomes. There is nothing that I find more rewarding than the end users enjoying the programs and solutions that are specifically designed to serve them.I started my career as a transportation planner, where I worked on a wide variety of mobility projects. I balanced strict regulations with the needs of unique communities to drive my work. I grew my project management and leadership skills, eventually joining LA Metro where I focused on operations and innovation. I continued to apply quantitative and qualitative approaches for solutions – this time for a region that includes 88 cities and one of the most diverse populations in the US.My career has since evolved along an interesting path. I entered the biotech industry to lead the development and implementation of the employee transportation programs. As a result of the custom-built and comprehensive program, I was able to advance the company’s sustainability goals and provide employees with reprieve from California traffic. I further expanded my capabilities by leading projects, programs, and initiatives throughout corporate operations. It was incredibly rewarding to be able to apply my analytical mindset to identify the root cause of challenges, engage stakeholders, and assess and implement solutions for continuous improvement.Returning to transportation in my home city, I look forward to applying my learnings from past experiences, and developing new strengths by working with other bright professionals, to advance the mobility options in Culver City and the LA region.I have also been fortunate to have grown professionally through involvement in professional organizations and strive to pay it forward. I have served as a board member of Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS)-LA Chapter and the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT)-SoCal Chapter. I enjoy mentoring other professionals in both industries and have grown through the connections that I have made through both formal and informal mentorship programs.I love to connect with others who have unique challenges to solve, particularly ones who can benefit from a leader with both a strong EQ and technical background.

Listed skills include Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Land Use Planning, Synchro, and 19 others.
