Senior Policy Director Sustainable Fashion
CurrentI am responsible for Solidaridad’s European and global fashion agenda for policy influencing and market uptake, with a focus on influencing the private sector to commit to and implement responsible environmental management, decent work and fair value distribution within their supply chain, and the public sector to enforce national norms and regulatory frameworks for sustainability and due diligence. Collectively with and through (multistakeholder) initiatives like the Cascale, SLCP, BCI, OCA, AII and the Policy Hub, but also directly with brands and manufacturers. Influencing the EU strategy for sustainable and circular textiles, the corporate sustainable due diligence directive and other relevant legislative proposals, I am mainly doing through consultations, position papers, letters and meetings with policy makers. As the Lead of our global cotton and textiles community of practitioners, I am responsible for our global linking and learning agenda and work with the team, brands, facilities, and farmers to implement environmental and social improvement programs like the Better Mill initiative and the Wage Management Systems program. I represent Solidaridad internationally on events, in panels, on conferences, and act as our spokesperson in the media.
