I am a journalist turned PR communications specialist with 25 years experience, an excellent writer, creative problem solver, strategist, team player with great people and client management skills.My daughter recently completed university and is at that scary stage of youth where she’s contemplating her future. So, she asked me if my 25-year career had been all that I’d envisaged after completing my journalism training at 22. As I reflected on my earlier years as a reporter penning interesting stories, the adrenalin of live tv interviews extending to PR and the many boardrooms I’ve sat in with amazing visionaries and business leaders, strategizing and solving problems, I felt a great sense of gratitude. No, my career is not at all what I thought it would, it has been that and more. I’ve had the privilege to learn, make mistakes and extend myself beyond what I ever imagined. Communications is a challenging field which has given me access to a myriad of industries, CEOs and worked with incredibly creative people. The skills I have acquired are lessons for life.
