Science Policy Analyst
CurrentCreated, spearheaded, and facilitated a panel discussion focusing on LGBTQ+ well-being and the experience of individuals from NINDS/NIH in October 2023. The event attracted more than 180 NINDS staff. Organize, manage, and lead the Show us your BRAIN! Photo & Video Contest, a part of the Annual BRAIN Initiative Conference. The contest attracts submissions from scientists in the US and worldwide and features in the annual BRAIN Initiative calendar.Liaise with the NINDS Program Officer to create a series highlighting BRAIN Initiative-support Fellowship F32, resulting in twelve published articles on the BRAIN blog and planned publication for 2024. Co-led planning activities and facilitated multiple sessions at the NINDS Office of the Director Annual Retreat in 2022 and 2023. Facilitated workshop sessions at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) Professional Development Event in May 2023. Lead and coordinate with program directors across the institute to prepare public-facing language for NINDS initiative concepts with potential to become funding opportunities. Develop high-quality communication material for the NINDS Brain blog. Elected as the Communication Chair for the NIH Sexual and Gender Minority Employee Resource Group - Salutaris.
