I am a behavior consultant who finds passion and purpose through working with children. Everyone says that “Children are the future,” but I believe this statement to my core. Working with children for the past 10 years, I have come to realize that children need educators who communicate with them, work with them, but most importantly, advocate for them.While the idea of spending 8 hour days surrounded by children may bring most adults to tears, I thrive in the joy and curiosity of the world through their eyes. Working as a behavior consultant for youth with Autism, I have been presented with the opportunities to work with families and other educators to support children with Autism in meeting their goals created by the leadership that I work under.During the pandemic, my team was crucial in the adaption of programs to meet the needs of the families that we serve. We took a program that served as after-school care and adjusted to online program facilitation and full day care with academic support of virtual learning. Through communication with teachers, parents, and supervisors, I provided individualized support to the children in our care to ensure that they are safe and provided with coping skills.
