Miss Wheelchair South Africa 2021, Tamelyn Bock from the Northern Cape (Nababeep) was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). She benefits from the use of a wheelchair on a daily basis. She attended St. Cyprians Primary, she completed Grade 9 at Nababeep High school and extended her school journey Grade 10-12 at Athlone school for the blind (a special school) in Cape Town. She studied a Degree in Corporate and Communication Management at Varsity College in Rondebosch, Cape Town. She worked for Barloworld CAT in Kathu as a Receptionist on a contract basis. She also worked at her primary school as a Administration Clerk, also on a contact basis. Tamelyn Bock is currently focused on changing negative perspectives society has towards disabled women, inclusiveness and breaking stereotyping barriers. Her aim is to work closely with the Mayor and Councillors to put her home town on the map as an accessible tourism destination to visit.Her aim is to focus on accessible transportation and accessible working environments for disabled individuals with the aim of permanent employment. Radio Nfm 98.1 will also assist her with her projects as her aim is to work closely with the youth as she wants to approach social issues. She enjoys fashion and beauty, watching reality shows, cooking and listening to music.
