Tamer has a proven executive management track record for more than 25 years of experience driving significant growth in the telecommunications sector. As the Chief Executive Officer, of Telecom Egypt “TE”, the incumbent listed at London stock exchange with a market cap of 1.1B U$D. Bringing four years of continuous effort and determination, through holding the CEO position, along with being the Enterprise Commercial Officer, Tamer succeeded in acquiring the 4th mobile operator license, achieve 16% revenue growth, 20% increase in fixed broadband customer base in 2016. Prior to joining TE, Tamer served 13 successful years in TEData, where he was the company’s CEO for 8 years, through which he managed to increase both the company’s market share from 47% to 74% and revenues from 58MU$D to 350MU$D, to leave his mark embarked forever on the company’s continuing growth. Previously, he spent 5 years of his professional career at MenaNet Communications, where he held the positions of General Manager and Business Development Director leaving behind significant achievements.He also served 2 years at GEGA NET, Joint Venture between SIEMENS-AG Germany and Telecom Egypt, where he held the position of Sales Manager. Besides his high executive profile, Tamer used his extensive experience and knowledge to serve in a number of well-established boards of directors, he is a board member at Banque Misr, where he is heading Information Technology committee and a member of governance, risk and HR committees. Additionally, he is a board member at Eastern company – stock company engaged in the manufacture and trade of tobacco- and a board member at Mwasalat Misr - first smart public transport company in Egypt-, and he was a board member at Vodafone Egypt, a Chairman to Centra, a Chairman to TEData Jordan. He earned his (MBA), at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM) –The Netherlands, and had his Bachelor of Science from Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University.
