For Eneco Business BV, a European supplier of electricity and gas domiciled in the Netherlands, acted as Portfolio manager and was responsible for all market risks and strategic opportunities related to wholesale electricity and gas contracts. This portfolio represents an annual value of approximately 3 billion Euros. Prior to this role, I helped to prepare, develop and implement their latest risk and portfolio management and billing software solution.

For New Values BV / Climex Tames I was the Business Development and IT Director. Started with the original business plan in 2001 and developed New Values together with his colleagues in the Board into an organization that operates electronic trading platforms for ‘environmental and energy commodities’.

For NetEconomy, a vendor of Financial Crime Prevention software, Tames worked as a Project and Product Manager implementing Financial Crime Prevention procedures and systems. Tames designed a standard Market Surveillance and Risk Management software package providing trade monitoring routines and risk management algorithms. The purpose of the solution was to ensure compliance with new regulatory frameworks developed in the European Union (the Market Abuse Directive (MAD) and the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

In 1994 Tames started with Exact Software. As a product-specialist / business analyst he became responsible for the design and implementation of all internationally required functionality for the finance and asset management modules of Exact Software.From June 1997 until December 1998 Tames was the responsible Project Manager for the introduction of the Euro and the year 2000 in all product lines of the Exact Group. He managed to get Exact through these projects without a single law suit while establishing the company as ‘knowledge center’ on the 2 issues for small and medium sized businesses throughout Europe.From December 1998 until August 2001 Tames became Product manager and as such responsible for the financial software of the Excellent product suite. He managed a group of 35 software engineers in 3 locations globally and integrated software products of 9 acquired international subsidiaries.

With KPMG Accountants Tames has been working as an auditor on administrative organization and procedures, financial statements, forensic accounting and operational risk analysis. Clients were mainly: merchant banks, wholesale banks, investment banks, building societies, pension funds and insurance companies.
