  I teach reading to students in K-4, benchmark all students in reading at Capron and Manchester Elementary Schools, and then run ten RtI data meetings per year in both schools. Students are placed into interventions based on their needs, and then progress monitored between benchmarking periods and checked to be sure the interventions are effective. I also provide staff development in many areas of reading to help teachers and assistants learn best practices so that our students can succeed. I also maintain all reading records, document Title 1 requirements, plan Family Reading Nights, oversee the Guided Reading Libraries, train all new staff in interventions, reading I, running records, etc. I also run a summer reading program each year to help prevent summer slide by providing books to students and deliver them each month to locations near their homes.
