From founding businesses in development to offsite construction, to advising key stakeholders and government on housing strategies, Tamika devoted her life's work to see the delivery of housing to the most vulnerable cohorts within our communities. With over 15 years in construction, and 12 specialising in affordable housing, Tamika was shortlisted for Queenslander of the Year and was awarded 'Entrepreneur - Woman of the year.’A consolidation of her life's work, Tamika works with institutional investors to see the delivery of housing under a unique impact model across Australia. Connecting all facets of company and government housing needs within a simple, yet effective lease model that sees us deliver the housing you need. The key focus we now see is delivering long term strategies to the housing crisis to see people in a home forever, off the housing waitlists targeting regions and working with key worker accommodation. Get in touch to see how we can assist with your housing needs across Australia. “My role as a businesswoman as well as an impact entrepreneur, has been to build a bridge between those organisations who help the people on the ground and those who seek to invest in it. Founding DirectorMy Bella Casa Jan 2021 - PresentAustralia, AuMy Bella Casa is an Australian residential offsite construction business delivering social & affordable housing focusing on 1-2 bedroom dwellings. Delivering faster timeframes, innovative solutions, and affordable housing along the coast of Australia, transported nation wide. My Bella Casa has a strong focus on high quality offsite construction to deliver permanent homes, not a short term fix & as such has a much higher specification to ensure longevity over time. And over the course of years of hard work, Tamika successfully lobbied governments to adopt this construction methodology for the purpose of social and affordable housing. If you have noticed State’s adopting this over time, chances are, you can thank the team at My Bella Casa for doing the leg work in educating governments to take this on!Focusing on regional locations, My Bella Casa was the missing link to a decade of experience working in social & affordable housing developments, funding structures, working with housing providers & construction firms. -
Executive ChairTop 100 Women Oct 2017 - PresentAustralia , AuThe Top 100 Women is a board of experienced professionals and leading organisations within the construction who are making a positive impact on the construction sector as we know it. Providing discounted pathways to training programs, certificates, courses and support to see women whom traditionally enter in junior levels, scale to the top with the right tools and education. By introducing accountability, and placing a large focus on the ‘How’, the Top 100 Women has scaled from featuring just 100 women, to some 13,500 people across Australia and Internationally. In addressing the core reasons of why there is just a mere 11% of women, we set out to understand the positive impact equality would have across all genders in creating a more harmonious environment for everyone to operate within. Founder #Istandforkelly#Istandforkelly May 2021 - Jul 2023• #istandforkelly was an initiative Tamika founded for the children of domestic violence victim – Kelly Wilkinson. In tragic events, 3 young children witnessed their mother be set alight by their father in an event that shocked the Gold Coast Community. • Kelly’s 3 children, suddenly orphaned were taken in by her sister and her husband – Danielle and Rhys Carroll, who already had 5 of their own. A new family of 10 in a 3 bedroom home was going to make the practicalities of getting by almost impossible post suffering such an incredible loss• Post meeting the 3 children and listening to their harrowing stories, Tamika refused to walk away accepting that this was in any way ok. “I have done enough work with foster children and social causes to know the development of a child between 0-7 and how much such a traumatic event can impact their belief on the world” • Immediately launching the #Istandforkelly initiative, Tamika called on the construction sector to build this family a home. “Those children, no child deserves what they have just experienced. The least we can do is get together as a community to let them know they matter and that people care. It would have been more of tragedy if they have grown to believe that bad things happen and people do nothing about it. So we set out to make it happen.”• Launching a campaign nation wide, Tamika called on the industry to make this happen. And within 48 hours the industry had come together, we had a builder, a home, all suppliers, trades, and a block of land donated to see a 7 bedroom home be built and retained in trust for the kids
