As a proactive consultant for innovative research leaders and directors, I specialise in unlocking a wide array of research funding opportunities and amplifying the potential for economic, environmental, cultural, or societal impacts.With a growing emphasis on the return on research funding investments, funders and governments worldwide are assessing the broader societal implications of university research. As Australia ranks 29th out of 30 countries in business-university research collaborations (OECD), the country has introduced research funding and assessment changes. These include the Australian Research Council's Engagement and Impact assessment, which evaluates research impact beyond academic contributions. Consequently, funders increasingly seek comprehensive information about potential impacts and stakeholder engagement in funding proposals, necessitating novel approaches to research planning and execution.Drawing on my extensive research experience and training in knowledge translation (KT) and research impact, I believe that enhancing our understanding of how to make research outcomes more meaningful, relevant, and timely is crucial. By employing knowledge translation strategies, research leaders and directors can access a broader spectrum of funding sources, collaborate more effectively with industry and business stakeholders, and excel in government research impact assessments.Through my role in directing the Research Impact Academy, I oversee and facilitate a comprehensive suite of services, including innovative workshops, consulting, membership, and coaching in knowledge translation and research. Under my leadership, the Research Impact Academy has supported researchers to secure millions of dollars in research funding. By connecting researchers with end-users, I ensure their work makes a real-world impact.I am passionate about collaborating with researchers and research organisations to forge pathways for research translation and impact, empowering them to bring their most significant work to fruition.
