Deployed as a project coordinator for Nyala in South Darfur affected by the war in Sudan. MSF operated a hospital, multiple health centres, and health points. Our work focuses on maternity, sexual and reproductive health, sexual violence, neonatal and paediatric care, water sanitation, and nutrition.

Supporting the executive direction of the Access Campaign in understanding and developing strategic vision and solutions for the future on two main topics:- The changing landscape of global health and the future direction of access to medicines and specific medical fields and topics.- Structural and institutional racism and colonial attitudes in access to medicines and global health.

Responsible for the emergency health programs of Save the Children US and Save the Children Australia including support to field operations and health programmes in emergencies and conflict and thematic programmes.Worked in the field and from HQ in support of programmes including:- Côte d'Ivoire conflict 2011- Health Programme in Afghanistan (AUD36 million)- Health interventions in South Yemen- Real-time evaluation of the Ethiopia part of the Horn-of-Africa food crisis- Head of operations in Thailand floods 2011.Thematic files worked on include:- Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Child Health- Emergency Community Case Management (eCCM).Engaged in advocacy and media relations.

Lead the response team to a multi-sector intervention and response operation in Thailand including relief, food security, education, water and sanitation, and support to refugee operation

Head of a USD10 million operation overseeing the crossing of refugees from Libya to Tunisia. The operation included several emergency response units (ERUs) and the establishment of a camp to accommodate refugees.I was a leader of a team from about a dozen Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with about 150 members.

Focal point for the IFRC health in emergencies functions including health response to natural disasters and epidemics. Involved in strategic direction, planning, implementation, technical guidance to the field, monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge sharing and advocacy.Worked during this position supporting emergency response in more than 20 countries both from HQ and in the field.

Deployed to lead and coordinate the Red Cross Red Crescent response to the cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe. Lead the establishment of 70+ expat medical teams in 7 locations around the country providing medical treatment, public health, prevention, epidemiology, and community outreach services in cooperation with the Zimbabwe Red Cross.
