Grew the EMEA Cloud Foundry team, and built the Dublin Engineering office from scratch.Mentored engineers in XP practices, such as pair programming, test-driven development and other agile processes.Managed the RabbitMQ core engineering team. With over 35,000 production deployments, RabbitMQ is the most popular open source message broker.Managed the Garden Linux containerisation team (Docker competitor). Moved the entire Cloud Foundry public platform (http://run.pivotal.io) with thousands of users from a dedicated vSphere datacenter to the public cloud on AWS. Lead various Cloud Foundry initiatives, including BOSH (http://bosh.io), Metrics, Application Logging, and Syslog Aggregation.Acted as engineer on the core Cloud Foundry Runtime team, mentoring teammates in test-driven development, pair-programming, and other agile XP techniques.

Co-founded Thunderbolt Labs, a consulting and development company. Clients included Beats by Dre, Heroku, Merck, Cloud Foundry and others. Managed all the normal bits of a consulting company, including client relationships, budget, employees, etc. Thunderbolt specialized in agile development, which included training client engineers on the right way of building software.

Managed and prioritizing the roadmap and feature set of the flagship cloud product. Built the free trial offering, and successfully opened the first satellite office in Portland.Managed the various Engineering and UX teams. Transitioned the teams to a DevOps and TDD/Pair-programming culture. Grew the team in the face of aggressive poaching from rival companies. Had one engineer call me the best boss he's ever had.

Unix administrator, engineer and project manager for the Sourthern Californian earthquake detection network, a vital part of Californian safety infrastructure. Ran as a massively distributed stream processing system, which analyzed data from hundreds of sensors buried under the ground across the lower half of the state.
