ICU/Med/Surg/Tele· Provide comprehensive nursing care for high acuity Medical Surgical and ICU patients requiring intensive medical, nursing, respiratory and therapy services.· Administer and monitor the use of blood-products, medications and pain-relieving drugs via epidurals, PCAs, IV infusion pumps, and IV push/piggyback, while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.· Utilize the nursing process to formulate patient care plans; identify, document, and implement nursing care, appropriate to patient care problems.· Set up, operate, and monitor medical equipment such as chest tubes, airways, PCA's, Epidurals, trach collar oxygen masks, ambu bags, intravenous infusion pumps, wall suction, enteral feeding pumps, cardiovascular monitors, electrocardiogram machines, and others as required; remain aware of the patient's condition and take appropriate action, as needed.· Instruct patients and family members regarding disease processes and provides emotional support for Respiratory Failure, CHF, Neurological conditions, withdrawal, and Sepsis.· Plan, delegate, and direct nursing care, and provide detailed documentation that meets JCAHO standards.
