Oversees operations for Hospital Medicine at 7 BJC hospitals in Illinois and Missouri, employing 100+ providers. Responsible for practice operations, physician employment, adherence to policy and procedures, strategic planning, marketing, and financial performance. Provides management oversight to site administrators who are responsible for day to day operations. Ensures the practice supports the overall operational goals of the department. Develops recommendations for capital, operating, and staffing budgets. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and budget expenses. Monitor, measure, assess and improve department performance using patient satisfaction data, quality metrics, coding and documentation, while providing education related to outcomes. Initiate employment agreements or amendment requests for provider arrangements not listing in their EA. Oversees multi-region HM schedules developing staffing plans to reduce locum utilization. Partner with the outpatient RPAs to facilitate referrals and discharge planning. Support Neuro and GI HM services incorporating their participation with the HM service and initiatives. Developed a comprehensive HM operations report to review with BJCMG, HSO, and HM leadership. Implemented a bi-weekly HM webinar, scheduling presentations on topics to improve on coding and documentation, patient experience, understanding system initiatives, and new advancements to treat disease processes. Review metrics with the providers and overseeing the metrics measurements. Development of provider onboarding orientation packet. Conduct payroll oversight to ensure policies and pay codes are followed and monitor the tracking of contractual and extra shifts. Serve as the temporary Palliative Care RPA.

Coordinate the care of patients referred to the Hospitalist Service to ensure timely hospital visits and discharges. Responsible for staffing the program each day, adjusting the schedule to meet the volume demands. Assisting and adhering in fiscal budget planning. Implementing a provider workflow for accountability to facilitate discharges to improve the programs LOS. Ensured each patient was assigned a PCP upon discharge and assisted in making follow-up appointments. Participate in provider recruitment and onboarding. Collaborate with nursing managers to assist in daily workflow to improve with nurse-physician relationships. Initiated Trio Rounds, having the physician and nurse round together with their patient. Improved patient experience scores by rounding on each patient to ensure our physicians were providing excellent care. Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to identify opportunities to improve or to share best practices. Held regular meetings with the hospital leadership team to align our initiatives with their goals. Co-lead owner for one of the hospitals GDP. Facilitated HMs involvement seeing New Vision patients. Implemented DCAM, daily care acceleration meetings, to forward think regarding discharge planning. Reduced over utilization of services for tests that should be completed as an outpatient. Support physicians as needed to assist in allowing the physician more time to spend with the patient. Offered patient education to help the physicians and nurses to help build on collaboration, communication, and patient satisfaction.
