In addition to my role and an Instructor, I have now been tasked with the responsibility to liaise with our industry partners to assist them in meeting their educational goals by creating custom training to meet their specific needs.

Instructing in Building and Energy Codes, Bylaws and legislation, Leadership, Management and Supervision as well as Environmental Management.

Established by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) develops and maintains Canada's National Model Construction Codes. Members are selected from across Canada for their individual interests and expertise, rather than as delegates of any association or group, and with a view to providing broad technical and geographical representation.The Commission receives policy advice from the Provincial/Territorial Policy Advisory Committee on Codes, which is made up of representatives from the provincial and territorial ministries responsible for building, plumbing and fire safety regulation. It oversees the work of several committees and task groups and formally approves all model code documents and technical revisions prior to publication by the NRC.

Managing the work of the Manitoba Elevator Board, review and adoption of newly published Elevator Codes, maintained quality in enforcement of elevator codes in Manitoba.

- Lead and managed a multidisciplinary staff of over 22 individuals in multiple locations and at different working levels and classifications through complex and publically sensitive issues.- Experienced in financial management in areas of budgeting, planning, revenue monitoring, equipment purchases, travel, overtime and requesting material needs .- Managed human resources issues, including selection, re-classification, development, supervision, evaluation, and promotion.- Experienced in performance reviews, learning plans, labour management practices, disciplinary action (including performance management), grievance procedures, and Respectful Workplace hearings.- Experienced in working within the legal and regulatory framework of the Province of Manitoba. - Demonstrated experience in forming partnerships and working with individuals/agencies from other jurisdictions, both locally and internationally.- Responsible for the full spectrum of policy, legislative and regulatory development including research, analysis, leading committees, planning and all required documentation on multiple topics.

Responsible for coordinating the activities of the Department, acting on behalf of the Deputy Minister when required and for performing quality assurance checks on all external documentation.
