I have worked in state government for more than 20 years, and though I attended Husson College with plans to become a paralegal, my career path has long been building toward my current position. I began at the Department of Public Safety in the State Bureau of Identification, where I helped to implement automated records management of criminal history records. From there, I moved on to the Office of Information Technology for the Maine State Police (before OIT was consolidated) and was instrumental in executing the installation of laptops in police cruisers. I went on to Vital Records where I was a system administrator for records management. In addition to my state government experience, I have also been a small business owner, running my own tanning salon with my mother for four years during my employment at Vital Records.Since taking the job at the Maine State Archives, my role has expanded from director of Records Management to also include director of Archives Services.
