Tammy will return to the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism on Dec. 1 as the Executive Director, upon retirement from Pender County Tourism on Nov. 30. With experience representing and promoting Coastal Pender, Tammy Roark Proctor had the privilege of serving all of Pender County, the land of history, a favorite location for the film industry, and miles of family-friendly beaches. While working in Pender County, Tammy used her newspaper skills to serve as PIO and found working in the Emergency Operations Center during natural disasters, such as Hurricane Florence, as a rewarding work experience. Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism hired Tammy Proctor to serve as the Executive Director of the chamber in 2014, after serving 90 days as the Interim Director. Since leaving the Ohio newspapers, Tammy has been active in producing press releases, and articles and updating websites and social media for two non-profit organizations. Additionally, she writes article for several other companies. In May 2013, Tammy's article, "And I Get Paid For This" was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul - Inspiration for Writers.
