As the Director of Operations & Human Resources at Forward Momentum Chicago, I am responsible for managing the finance, accounting, human resources, and operations functions of the organization. In terms of finance and accounting, I work closely with our accounting firm and auditors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics. Additionally, I serve as a staff liaison with the Finance Committee, oversee multiple bank and investment accounts, and manage the annual budget process across department managers and directors for a $1.5 million budget. I also develop program budgets and projections for grant proposals and projects while ensuring timely accounts receivable and accounts payable.As for human resources, I develop and maintain the organization’s Personnel Policies, Compensation Philosophy, and Salary Chart, and oversee the Employee Performance Assessment process for all full-time employees. I also serve as a liaison between the insurance broker and the organization and systemize and document hiring, onboarding, and termination processes. Additionally, I oversee payroll for staff and 1099 contractors and maintain competence in current HR trends for equitable workplaces.Finally, I oversee the day-to-day operations for up to 10 employees and provide support for all members of the team. My responsibilities include ensuring physical and emotional safety in all workspaces, maintaining office supply levels and amenities for staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing internal and external relationships, and providing support and project management for events as needed.
