    Tammy serves as the visionary founder and leader of the Athena Communications. Named a 2021 Women of Influence by the Milwaukee Business Journal, she is an award-winning PR and equity strategist. Athena is a brand management and government affairs firm specializing in strategic communications, equity and inclusion practices, and media engagement, with client partners engaged in transformational and systems change work. From June 2020 through January 2022, Tammy was the first appointed chief diversity officer with Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the largest regional theater in Wisconsin. As an accelerant for equity and inclusion, she works directly with executive leadership, board of trustees, staff and community to develop, implement and measure ED&I goals for the theater and serve as an internal coach on inclusiveness and diversity issues. In 2021 she was a part of the inaugural class of most Notable Alumni, a recognition for distinguished alumni recognized by the Biz Times and was most recently the recipient of the inaugural Governor's Tourism Award for Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion. The award recognizes demonstrated leadership in raising awareness, or facilitating change, to build a more inclusive and welcoming environment for visitors to Wisconsin.Prior to launching Athena in 2009, Tammy held senior level positions in city government and community-based organizations and served as staff assistant with the Milwaukee County Board and Milwaukee Common Council. An active member of the greater Milwaukee community, she currently serves as a trustee on the boards of Alverno College and Milwaukee Rep and board member of the Professional Dimensions Charitable Fund Board and Public Relations Society of America – Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter (PRSA-SEW). She enjoys membership in TEMPO Milwaukee, Professional Dimensions, PRSA-SEW, and the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Marquette University.

    The Professional Dimensions Charitable Fund was formed as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1985 to serve as the charitable, tax-exempt arm of the organization. A separate Charitable Fund board of directors, which reports to the Professional Dimensions board, also was established. From 1986 to 1991, the Charitable Fund awarded college scholarships to economically disadvantaged women and small grants to a variety of nonprofit organizations in Milwaukee.In 1992, the fund shifted its focus to concentrate on supporting local organizations that foster the self-sufficiency of women and girls. The biennial selection of a Charitable Fund project was developed as a way to strengthen a high-performing or high-potential initiative by infusing both volunteer time and financial support over a two-year period. At the same time, it gives members an opportunity to work together toward helping individuals and organizations in Milwaukee.
