I am an experienced System Administrator and Test Engineer previously employed by Cisco Systems, Inc. for 12 years. Due to a division restructure, my job was eliminated; however, I want to share that “I loved my job!” There was nothing more fun for me than installing, upgrading, configuring and testing platforms and development code, and working to improve its ease-of-installation, verifying and testing software system components, and identifying potential issues while attempting to improve usability. It was always a puzzle, a new puzzle, with new solutions and causes.To add to the fun, I have been building virtual servers via KVM, VMware and OpenStack applications; the latter, was installing and migrating complete systems into cloud-based environments. I performed many types of testing with integration and regression testing having the most frequency. To ensure that software complied with various software requirements, I created test plans in a company-used template and then tested each test case thoroughly. When applicable, I created defects by working closely with platform and development engineers to ensure we created appropriate work-around solutions until the defect was resolved.I have been told that I am a great team player as I am eager to assist and troubleshoot systems used by other colleagues.
