Lead the Global Product Management team for Automated Blood Technologies business unit with $350 million in annual net sales. Lead a team of 8 global product mangers. Work with the regions to understand market needs and work with R&D to prioritize product development efforts. The team manages both product support for products on market as well as new product development efforts.

Main responsibilities focused on managing the global platelet apheresis portfolio, including life cycle management of existing product configurations as well as definition of key customer requirements for new product development. Create, update and communicate the short-term and long-term product roadmaps. Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize growth opportunities including product enhancements and regional expansions. Lead an effort to integrate the Quality Engineering team into the R&D engineering community. Managed a team of 5 Quality engineers. Created a 100-day plan to standardize the Quality Engineering processes across all of the businesses. Identified and implemented quality process improvements.

Lead the Platelet Apheresis R&D team for both life cycle management and new product development. Managed a team of 10 engineers in the Disposables and Systems Engineering functions. Worked with the regional marketing teams to prioritize product support activities that related to quality, delivery and cost improvements. Managed a focused Lean Six Sigma effort to improve quality levels, resulting in greater than 50% reduction in customer complaints. Global technical point of contact for interface to Quality, Marketing, sales and Manufacturing teams.

Responsible for leading a team of 4 system and disposable engineers to develop system enhancements to existing apheresis devices. Developed the project plans including scope, schedule, resources and budget. Worked with other functions including Quality, Regulatory and Clinical to successfully execute clinical trials and obtain regulatory approvals for these upgrades. Worked with Marketing, Sales and Training teams to successfully launch these upgrades into the global markets.

Responsible for supporting 3 different apheresis devices in Systems Engineering role. Supported the successful launch of a new red blood cell apheresis device into the US market in 2003 by analyzing all systems issues reported during its customer evaluation phase. Lead the plasma apheresis team in selection and development of various projects for existing device for collection of source plasma. Supported various software optimization projects on existing platelet apheresis device.

Responsible for the support of the platelet apheresis disposable throughout its launch phase. Lead multiple reliability improvement projects. Supported the transfer of manufacturing from a plant in the US to Puerto Rico.

Responsible for the development of various testing methods for a new platelet apheresis disposable prior to launch.
