● Lead a coalition of health advocates and impacted residents guiding the Department of Health, Dept. Environmental Protection’s Offices of Environmental Justice, and Oil & Gas Management, and the advisory panel of University of Pittsburgh on Gov. Wolf’s 2019 fracking studies● Establish and lead Concerned Health Professional of Pennsylvania advocating for Pennsylvanians affected by fracking● Partnered with Wayne State University and UPMC to conduct unique research into radioactive emissions in proximity to UGD industry facilities● Conduct statewide community town halls that spur local government response and formation of subcommittees to protect residents from health impacts of UGD industry-related radioactivity and other toxins● Lead as a steering committee leader, develop and co-lead a state-wide coalition of grassroots organizers to put pressure on the governor and other state policy makers to prioritizing the public’s health and safety over the UGD industry ● Prepare expert witnesses for cross-examination and draft expert witness report material ● Create the Pennsylvania Health Check-Up - a statewide, hybrid, speed-learning series to educate and engage healthcare providers about the health impacts of the UGD industry● Identify and unite physicians to advance the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s call for the state to establish a moratorium on fracking, develop a health registry, and to conduct research; and to prohibit false energy solutions such as, hydrogen and carbon capture ● Co-edit the 2019, 2022, 2023 Compendium of Scientific, Medical, and Media Findings Demonstrating Risks and Harms of Fracking ● Coordinate in a city-wide coalition effort to prohibit and appeal the Department of Health, Air Management System’s permit for the proposed power plant in the Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia on the grounds of environmental racism.

: The overall program goal is to engage Pennsylvania healthcare providers in advocacy to prioritize the public’s health and safety in the face of ongoing health impacts related to the unconventional gas drilling (UGD) industry and other toxic industries. We guide healthcare providers in offering testimony as expert witnesses, speaking at rallies, educating in legislative visits, sign-on letters, attaining earned media opinion pieces, and social media to build social capital. Organizing Pennsylvania medical professionals around their concerns about fracking through a partnership between Southwest Pennsylvania Environmental Health Project and Physicians for Social Responsibility in Philadelphia.
