Planner
Planner
My primary responsibility at CMCA was to coordinate the final permitting approvals (local and State) and the mitigation monitoring and reporting process for the Los Osos Wastewater Treatment Project. CMCA was contracted by the Los Osos Community Services Department. It was an exciting job, though cut short by Board decisions.
Planner
I worked in the Current Planning division of the Department of Planning and Building. As a planner on the Coastal Team, I reviewed and processed discretionary permit applications in the coastal zone, including coastal development, conditional use, and minor use permits.
Planner
I provided contract, on-site planning services to the City at senior planner/project manager level for special projects that required agency coordination (internal & external), public outreach & education, emerging concepts, and application of new state and federal mandates. Notable projects included the Morro Bay Power Plant Modernization Project (CEC siting process), the City's first draft Stormwater Management Plan, processing of coastal development permits, and smart growth and sustainability policy development.
Planning Manager
During 1997 – 1999, I was a Planning Manager in the Office of Park Planning for the Department of Parks and Recreation (aka Florida Park Service). I managed the State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and represented the Department on various committees and projects. My primary tasks included management and oversight of our planning team, extensive statewide outreach and engagement with public, private, and non-profit stakeholders, facilitation of a steering committee, policy and program development, research, and management of the state's public and private outdoor recreation database. I was the Department’s liaison to the State's Greenway Management Plan. I also facilitated MOU's with cities, counties and other agencies related to state park plans and development. In 1995 – 1997, I had a great job coordinating the Department's participation in the development of special planning projects in 2 ecosystems of critical state concern - the Florida Keys and the Green Swamp. I facilitated inter-agency and internal agency coordination for the Florida Keys including the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Management Plan and Water Quality Protection Plan among others.
