Tammy oversees the management of a non-profit association in the emerging industry of irrigation. Working with a board of trustees, she is responsible for the general public relations of the association. Tammy represents the TXIA with other associations, distributors, vendors, and trade shows to promote association goals.She publishes the TXIA Quarterly Newsletter, an industry magazine with a circulation of 8,000+ irrigation professionals in Texas, conducts advertising sales, article solicitation and submission, publication layout, and mailing list maintenance. Acting as the lead person with regards to communications, Tammy maintains the association website and disseminates pertinent information via social media outlets.Tammy orchestrates TXIA's quarterly trustee meetings and the yearly strategic planning meeting setting the agenda, developing handouts and presentations, and producing financial reports. She oversees all financial operations of the association including fundraising efforts. Tammy schedules and attends meetings with the TCEQ and its advisory council to represent industry interests. She works closely with the association's legislative representative to monitor legislative activity affecting the industry.Mrs. Swor maintains an online database of members, collects membership dues, and distributes membership packets to new and renewing members. She oversees education events for the association working with the state agency to secure approved CEU instructors, sets class outlines, schedules, and instructor bios, and follows up by submitting attendee data in TCEQ's online CEU tracking database.Tammy works to communicate with Texas consumers the benefits and state mandate to hire licensed irrigators when installing or maintaining their irrigation systems. As Texas deals with statewide drought conditions, she works with local associations to help inform consumers on the practices of smart water management.
