In this role, I lead a team of M&E advisors responsible for a $350M portfolio (emergency and development) over Africa and Asia, including GF HIV, Malaria and TB programs, Youth Economic Empowerment, Gender Equality and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Education. I also directly oversee portfolios in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Haiti. In addition, I provide support for most of Plan's Africa Country Offices. Some highlights of my key accomplishments include: conducting structural equation modelling on Plan Canada’s Gender Equality framework using empirical data from Tanzania and conducting research on the impact of COVID-19 on the MNCH/SRHR for Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Bangladesh; designing a result-based financing proposal and M&E system for Education Outcome Fund in Ghana; design of electronic cohort tracking system for a youth economic empowerment project in Myanmar.

Mississauga

- Contributor for Impact Agile Team working to curate, process, and analyze WVC’s portfolio impact including cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis adopting Agile Project Management methodology and collaboratively working in a cross-functional team.- Led research, monitoring and evaluation for World Vision Canada’s Programs & Policy division involving a diverse and large portfolio of grants and privately funded programs.- Engaged in strategic partnerships with academic and research institutions, such as JHU, UoT and SickKids for strong evidence of impact.- Led and manage consultancy services for research and evaluations and ensure quality and rigorous evaluation and research evidence were generated from WVC funding.- Led and conducted in-house evaluations and research on grant and privately funded projects, as well as independent research such as on child vulnerability and degree of vulnerability of households.(for an earlier part of this tenure I provided portfolio management for five Countries)

Johannesburg Area, South Africa

- Led the building of evidence and its utilization, M&E capacity and program quality standards across Nine Country offices in Southern Africa Region, including publishing the child wellbeing impact of the regional portfolio.- Led research, monitoring and evaluation priorities, strategies, investment and strategic partnerships with academic and research partners across Nine Countries.- Provided quality assurance leadership for the selection and management of consultancies and academic partnerships. - Provided strategic leadership for resourcing and capacity building of employees in monitoring, evaluation and research.

Johannesburg

- Provided monitoring, evaluation and program design oversight and technical support for Nine Country Offices in the Southern Africa region.- Conducted staff competency assessments, developed integrated competency development plans and supported the execution of the plans across the Country Offices.- Facilitated staff capacity-building workshops, training and practical field level mentoring and evaluation coaching sessions.

Bujumbura

- Provided strategic leadership for a portfolio of over 25 M USD per year including managing and coaching staff in M&E quality, and sectorial technical quality assurance (Health/nutrition, WASH, Livelihoods, Education, Food programming & others).- Led resource acquisition and donor engagement processes and strategies resulting in acquisitions of a major grant from EU, AusAID and UN agencies. - Led strategic partnerships with Government, donors, the private sector, UN bodies and others. - Led strategy development and tracking with a focus on portfolio growth and diversification.- Deputize the country director and act on his behalf during his absence

Baku

- Provided strategic leadership for program portfolio and capacity building of project managers. - Provided oversight of portfolio growth, proposal development, and budget management including procurement and approval of financial reports.- Built strong advocacy programs involving Government, donors, UNICEF and peer NGOs partnership, particularly leading on a de-institutionalization of children initiative.- Deputize the Country Director and act on his behalf in his absense.

Awassa

- Provided leadership for 14 large Area Development Programs with over 40 M USD budget and a large quantity of SafetyNet and emergency food program funded by USAID and WB.- Led, coached and mentored the 14 Area Program Managers and finance, human resource and supply chain function leads of the regional office.- Represented WV Ethiopia with the Southern Regional State Government, other partners and donors based in the region.

Northern Ethiopia Area

- Managed the implementation of a complex area program involving sponsorship, several government-funded grant projects [EU, AusAID, ECHO, USAID] and emergency response with over 1.7 M USD per year and large food for work and relief commodity.- Led, coached and mentored over 30 professional staff working in diverse sectors. - Managed local government and other stakeholder relations.

Various Including Addis Ababa And Northern Ethiopia

- Conducted many dozens of assessments, program designs, evaluations, feasibility assessments, emergency response assessments, routine program monitoring and reporting, regular early warning surveys, and management of evaluation consultancies. - Led many dozens of participatory rural appraisal, participatory monitoring and evaluation and staff capacity building sessions throughout the various M&E roles.- Led donor reporting for all grants, humanitarian response and sponsorship funded projects implemented in the northern branch of WV Ethiopia.(In this period I worked as a grass-roots M&E officer, regional M&E officer, regional M&E lead directly working on assessments, data analysis, report writing and use of participatory rural appraisal for design, monitoring and evaluation of programs in the northern part of Ethiopia)
