With over 34 years of dedicated public service in the Criminal Justice/Human services field, I have gained extensive experience and expertise. I am a passionate leader with a deep commitment to community safety. Throughout my career, I have actively supported individuals in their journey to recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. My focus has been addressing public safety concerns, building community partnerships, organizing impactful public awareness events, facilitating group therapy sessions, implementing trauma-informed care, and supervising sex offenders. To further enhance my ability to drive positive change, I pursued certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor from Old Dominion University. This additional qualification has given me a comprehensive understanding of addiction and equipped me with the necessary skills to provide effective support and guidance. I am also a resourceful and strategic problem solver, capable of making timely decisions to facilitate change. As a lifelong learner, I always seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and diversify my skill set. This has allowed me to accumulate valuable life experience. I am confident that I can contribute creative and meaningful ideas to any organization or team dedicated to the well-being of our communities and the individuals within them.
