Tamsyn Crowley, is a Director at the University of New England. Tamsyn, who has an extensive background in research, leadership and management, currently leads PHA based at the University of New England, while also maintaining her research laboratory at Deakin University. In her current role Professor Crowley regularly engages with all levels of the community including local councils, industry and the broader community. Professor Crowley's expertise are;- Formulating and executing strategies in collaboration with relevant industry and stakeholders.- Acquiring funding for projects and activities by skillfully managing relationships with partner organizations, government entities, quasi-government bodies, and private channels.- Developing annual budgets, operational plans, and ensuring sound governance.- Overseeing day-to-day operations within the organization, including the supervision of staff.- Cultivating a strong organizational presence through effective communication across various mediums.- Collaborating closely with industry and stakeholders to optimize productivity and cooperation among partners.- Conceiving, developing, and implementing significant new projects and initiatives in consultation with stakeholders, while working in close partnership with support staff, advisory committees, and implementation teams.- Overseeing assets, evaluating their worth and expenses, and determining pricing.Professor Crowley's research interests include gut health, epigenetics and bioinformatics. Current projects in her lab include novel markers for stress in animals, innovative strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance and interventions aimed at reducing foodborne illness.
