I am passionate about creating new musical works that weave together musical theatre and Vietnamese folk arts, and have received multiple grants and awards for the development of my original musical: ANIVIA, rooted in Vietnamese heritage. Under generous support from the tri-councils (TAC, OAC, and Canada Council), Aluna Theatre and Factory Theatre, I presented a workshop presentation of ANIVIA, my original musical rooted in Vietnamese heritage, with a cast of 10 artists and a creative team of 17, to a full house at Factory Theatre in September 2023.

I was one of two artists selected for Buddies In Bad Times Theatre's Emerging Creators' Unit. Over 10 months, I undertook masterclasses and professional development workshops to create my original musical: ANIVIA. I presented a concept showcase of ANIVIA at PRIDE FESTIVAL 2022 under a professional contract by the Canadian Actors' Equity Association (CAEA).As a result of this presentation, I won grants from Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Canada Council for the Arts to continue developing the work in subsequent years.
