My passion for privately owned businesses who want to change things up and achieve outcomes that position them well for the future gets me out of bed in the morning. It’s easy to bring energy and commitment to every situation because I’m doing what I love! I particularly enjoy working in the areas of strategy, planning, forecasting, and business structure. I am a strong and confident pair of hands who forms long-term relationships and is beside you as your co-driver as you work towards your goals.Over the last 30 odd years I’ve become known for my no-nonsense approach as a sounding board, because I’m always ready and able to put the hard issues on the table for debate. I’m excited by helping facilitate and challenge the way people approach thinking about goals and strategy, and how their objectives relate to their organisation’s purpose, vision and values.My focus is firmly on delivering value and positive outcomes, rather than on rigorously executing a process. I really get to know owners and businesses by becoming an extension of their team, rather than a bolt on external advisor. Becoming an internationally accredited coach has influenced the way I work, live and lead. The boards I am on and clients that I work with value my ability to empathise, get to the nub of their issues and see and understand the world through their eyes. My board roles with Grant Thornton NZ Ltd and Coffee Supreme Ltd capitalise on my commercial experience, strategic leadership, coaching and vision. These roles also enable me to work alongside passionate and authentic people – people working for businesses wanting to grow and go beyond, which are the very things that light me up and make my work so rewarding.
