Under the direction of the Department Head, and in coordination with Faculty of Arts advisors, oversees the administration of undergraduate programs in the department: 1) Communication & Media Studies and 2) Film Studies

Teaching, Research, University Service, Scholarly Association Service. Teach and design courses in rhetorical communication, rhetorical history and theory, professional and technical communication (oversee student's online content development projects for organizations), research methodologies (oversee students' community-based research projects for organizations), and undergraduate peer mentoring and collaborative learning. Supervise and advise honors and graduate students and serve on graduate examination committees. Develop and manage educational programs and oversee their staff, budgets, policies and communications. Conduct collaborative and independent research projects. Publish results at scholarly conferences, in scholarly journals, books, textbooks, and online. Write grant proposals and obtain collaborative and independent grants and awards. Plan events and deliver workshops, lectures and seminars. Serve on boards and committees of international, national and local nonprofit organizations and scholarly associations. Serve as reviewer and editor of scholarly publications.

Founder and president of a patient-led nonprofit that supports thyroid patients and provides science-based education and advocacy for patients and physicians.
