CurrentMatrix Human Services operates the largest federally funded Head Start program in Detroit serving more than 1,900 children at 24 locations with additional child care partnership sites across the city.Matrix Head Start serves children ages zero to five, special needs children, pregnant women and their families.Matrix programs span across demographics to include the most vulnerable in the community. From pre-birth, young children, pre-teen, teen, homeless/runaway youth services to senior programs. Matrix also provides HIV/AIDS outreach and community centers, offering a steady hand-up to Detroiters in need.• Assists in planning and implementation of program activities and initiatives• Create developmentally appropriate activities, experiences, and environments that advance all areas of children development according to age and stages of development.• Maintains confidentiality of all discussions and records• Responsible for knowledge and understanding of the philosophy, content areas and functions standards, NAEYC developmentally appropriate practices and state child care licensing regulations• Work closely and cooperatively with family services staff to promote partnerships with families• Conduct developmental screenings of infant and toddlers motor, language, social, cognitive, and perceptual and emotional levels
