I am an intellectually curious and empathetic investment banker and change leader with particular expertise and passion in ESG, and sustainable finance, and nearly 20 years’ experience driving performance and building engagement with the senior leadership of large corporate and financial institution clients at Barclays. Active in the start-up / scale-up impact for-profit space through mentorship programmes, I have a detailed understanding of the challenges and solutions to transforming businesses for a sustainable future, including the needs of sustainable investors and how to channel capital into climate tech, leveraging my deep expertise in capital markets, M&A and IPO.In my current role at Barclays as Head of Sustainable Banking EMEA, I have guided corporate clients on their transition towards Net Zero, the future-proofing of business models and decarbonisation solutions. Educated on carbon markets, ESG ratings, disclosure frameworks and regulations, including ISSB, CSRD and TCFD, I have built Barclays' ESG Advisory team from ground to global success and also spearheaded product innovation. I focus on quantifying ESG valuation impact in corporate finance and private equity. In fifteen years as a DCM banker, I have generated ideas, executed capital markets financing and best in class treasury management, raised billions of pounds in capital, optimised cost of funding, and maximised engagement with investors for a range of leading financial institutions. I have explored and developed new business opportunities, turning around or enhancing performance in diverse geographies from the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia to emerging markets across Sub-Saharan Africa.Valued for my empathetic, collaborative approach to delivering meaningful change, I have honed my advisory skills through my work as an investment banker, championing sustainability through mentorship programmes with organisations including Unreasonable, Pilotlight and Rise. I am also a qualified holistic counsellor.Born and raised in Germany, I completed my MBA in the US and have worked in the UK for nearly 20 years.
