I am completely and passionately curious. I love to learn, but more importantly I love to figure out how things work together, in systems, and in the greater context of the world. Stories are the core of this fascination for me. There’s a story at the heart of everything, and my driving purpose in life is to tell good stories, stories that matter and stories that share something important every time you interact with them, no matter the medium. If those stories happen to have dragons or dinosaurs or astronauts or pirates... even better. I believe in the power of representational media, and am biased towards stories with unconventional heroes building their place in the world. I credit animation for its relentless pursuit in telling those stories.Role-playing games (RPGs) are my favorite overall medium for the combination of storytelling, play engagement and learning, particularly tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs). I've studied the use and design of TTRPGs in school/learning environments and the motivations for female engagement in RPGs, and find immense personal joy in the introduction of TTRPGs and indeed RPGs in general (including MMORPGs) to new players. My professional and academic experiences are in science education, game design and the development of learning through storytelling and play. I'm passionate about children's development and have a deep love for animation, interactive stories, and structured play (not to mention really cool science). At heart, I'm still a big kid; obsessed with learning and approaching everything I do with unending curiosity and a desire to do some good.
