To identify my 'playground', the area I enjoy working in, I use the expression ‘the human side of innovation’. ‘Human’ includes both the people that will use the innovation, the end users, as well as the people working in organisations that make the innovation happen. I enjoy the complexity of this context and the paradoxical aspects of content and process, strategy and execution, analysis and empathy, rational reasoning and creative thinking.I use and share my experience and knowledge in three different ways: • as a self-employed facilitator of (creative) workshops and creative ways of knowledge sharing;• as a member of supervisory boards of health care organisations;• as researcher co-design into participatory design of innovative interventions, with an emphasis on health care.
