I am a student at Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville, Indiana in the Interior and Environmental Design with a 4.0 GPA. I familiar with Microsoft Office and am taking courses on CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, floor planning, furniture and textiles, architectural history and design, and I learned how to use Homestyler on my own time. I've worked on projects for family members so far, including choosing blinds for, and making Pinterest idea boards for, a family member's newly built house. I painted and curated the interior of our family home and am working on upgrading our kitchen and outdoor space. My very first design project was sketching out a side porch for my parents' new side porch when I was 13 years old. I am looking forward to working with our school's SGA, Environmental Club, Student Leadership College, and taking a Study Abroad trip to Turkey next summer. I volunteer with Petunia's Resale which benefits local animal rescue efforts. At home I like to garden when I have the time which ties into my love of landscape design and sustainability. I am also active in St. Anthony's Orthodox Church (ROCOR). For the last 20 years I was a stay-at-home wife and mother and homeschooled our sons, who are also students at Ivy Tech, Evansville. They are both planning on entering the United Sates Navy's Nuclear Propulsion program. Staying at home helped me to develop patience, organizational skills, budgeting, planning, and to plan extracurricular activities like trips to museums, special evens, the zoo, First Friday, and local parks so we could not just enjoy outdoor and physical activities but so that we could learn more about local flora and fauna.I am looking forward to completing my time at Ivy Tech with an AS and as a member of the Dean's List. I would like to go on to finish a Bachelor's degree in Design and perhaps to go on to do a Master's in Design, Art, or Art History so I could teach at Ivy Tech and give back to the school that is giving our family so much.
