After I had worked as a group product manager for Sony Personal Audio in the Netherlands I moved to Sony headquarters in Tokyo where I was first responsible for product planning of Walkman N. In both roles I performed major successful turnarounds. I left Philips when having my first child.I later worked in Private Equity for a.o. HAL investments, acquiring all Pearle optical retail chains throughout Europe in cooperation with Mel Groot. Thereafter I became general manager of an international strategy consulting boutique, the Idea Factory started by Harvards' renowned John Kao.My strong interest in sustainability led me at an early stage (2004) to developing and presenting the business case for CSR for several sectors amongst which construction and Private Equity.This led to the idea of an impact investing fund aimed at an oft-forgotten consumer group: the bottom of the pyramid. The fund was mainly focussed on Africa.I have also fulfilled numerous other roles as non-executive and supervisory board member, advisor and coach.What started as a private interest: landscaping and developing and maintaining a 10 acre estate over decades gradually became more of a professional interest leading to a drastic change in career, also building on many of my previous experiences.
