This internship was provided by Prince George's County through the Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP), and we had the opportunity to work at one of the schools within Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), specifically Port Towns Elementary School. As an Administrative Support Intern at Port Towns Elementary School, I gained hands-on experience in various administrative and organizational tasks within a public school environment. My key responsibilities included:• Entering and managing student records in spreadsheets and databases.• Transferring student files and records to their current schools.• Organizing and maintaining student information and files.• Regularly answering phone calls and assisting parents with enrollment, withdrawals, and other inquiries related to Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS).• Supporting fellow interns from the Beautification department and assisting new staff members.• Creating staff extensions and providing general administrative support to the school’s team.This internship, completed through the Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP), has been instrumental in developing my organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. It provided me with valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of an educational institution, and I’m proud to have contributed to the success of the school's administrative functions.
