A diligent and highly passionate final-year Genetics undergraduate student at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), possesses a strong interest in scientific research, particularly focusing on molecular biology, genetics and oncology research to bring an ultimate goal of making a meaningful scientific impact for society.Throughout her years of study, she constantly sought opportunities to enhance her skills in the laboratory and knowledge by proactively being involved in various programs and competitions such as DDRx Group: Global Research Program 2024 and workshop on in silico Modification of Antimicrobial Peptide (AMP), International Inter Varsity Innovation Challenge, and Microbes Invention Innovation and Ideation Challenge. Furthermore, she completed beneficial course modules on Molecular Biology, Cell and Tissue culture, Human genetics and Medicine, Recombinant DNA Technology and others, which equipped her with a solid foundation in biotechnology research. Beyond her technical skills, she exemplifies the courage to extend beyond her comfort zone. She is actively engaged in various organizations. For instance, she has assumed as Head of the First Section (First Aid Trainer) at the Malaysian Red Crescent Society Detachment 88D, Head of Programme Management and Planning for the Chinese Association of Kolej Burhanuddin Helmi (KBH), External Relations and Registration Exco of 1st Multidisciplinary Regional Conference Science and Technology 2024 and others. These experiences enabled her to develop robust teamwork, interpersonal communication, leadership and time management skills. She also proactively engages in various volunteering activities, including volunteering at the National Zoo and as a First Aid Attendant for the Malaysian Red Crescent UKM Chapter, providing essential first aid assistance at university events such as carnivals, sports competitions, and convocation ceremonies.Currently, she is engaged in her final year project, which focuses on the in silico modification of the extraction of antimicrobial peptides, which possess anti-breast cancer properties from freshwater fish. Throughout this project, she has acquired significant experience in mammalian cell culture. Additionally, she has utilised SDS-PAGE for peptide detection in permeability tests and the SRB assay for assessing the cytotoxicity of modified antimicrobial peptides. Her willingness to embrace the opportunities ahead will consistently prepare her to confront the challenges and discoveries that may arise in her learning and research journey.
